Latin – ‘Gratia‘

Greek – ‘Charis’

• ‘That which brings approval, delight and joy.’´
• ‘Unmerited favour; a gift freely and undeservingly given.’
• ‘To be thankful, grateful.’

 

“The word for thanks is charis. To have charis is to be thankful; to give charis is to give thanks.

Charis is both the delight in receiving a gift, and the thanks one offers for it.”

 

 

The Mission of Charis Community Church

To be and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, witnessing, loving and Serving from our

doorsteps “to the ends of the earth”, Acts 1:8 – “but you will receive power when the Holy

Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witness, and in all Judea and Samaria and even

to the remotest part of the earth.”

 

Our Vision at Charis Community Church

To be a faithful, growing church, with demonstration of true community relations and deep

Christian spirituality.

Micah 6:8 – “He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you.

But to do justice, to love kindness. And to walk humbly with your God!’
